V.E.S. was inaccurate from the floor The Bishops, walloped in their last and got only 9 field goals in the outing with the Saints in Richmond, entire game. An example of this was played a deliberate game, waiting the fact that the Bishops collected for a good shot. The Saints played 0nly two points in the third quarter. race-horse ball and shot from all an-

The Saints tried a shot and missed and Chaffin came of:: with the rebound for V.E.S. They froze the ball , shot, lost possession , and St. Ch ristopher's DeColligny was fouled twice in the final fifteen seconds, missing four free shots. The game
ended with the Saints in pos~ession. The Bishops had many individual stars-Alex Chaffin, who hit 12 points in the first half and who wound up
as V.E.S. high scorer with 16; "Bull- dog " Turne r and Frank Craighill, who each scored 4 clutch points in the final pe•iod; Blair Farinho~t. who wound up wit h II crucial points ; and co-captains Jim W oolery and Brent Nash. The basketball team finished the 1954-55 season with a tremendous flourish, knocking off Bedford at Bed-
p lished in years, fo llowed by the up- seasons to come. Although the sen-
set of the season, beating our arch- V.E.S.
rival, St. Christopher's, in one of the most thril ling and exciting games ever to be played in the V.E.S. gym. The team got off to a slow start and from the spectator's standpoint, the season looked like a losing one, but the closing games-two major vic- tories-made it a winning season.
We started out the season playing an extremely sloppy brand of basket- ball. But as the boys began acquiring experience and with hard work at practice, our scoring percentages increased , our ball handling im- proved, and our rebound power be- gan to take form. A co-operative team attitude with the will to win developed from within the boys. One of t he most essential attributes of any ball player is self-confidence, that feeling of assurance, knowing what to do at the proper time. The development of this self-confidence inspired the boys and made them want to win. It made them play to the best of their capabilities and that was all that was asked of them.
Our season record of six wins and eight losses is not recognized from
