Bishops Down Bedford By 7-5 Score
Hardy Dillard returned in the seventh inning to quench a final Bed- ford rally by striking out the batter with the tying run on base.
Dillard left the game in the sixth after striking out twelve men, walk- ing only seven, and giving up no hits.
Bedford, facing V. E. S.'s Jim Mc- ~ee for most of the seventh, capital- Ized on several V. E. S. mistakes and the loss of control that prevailed upon McGee after he had retired the first two men he faced and made three of their five runs. V. E. S. made five runs in the second on two errors, two walks, a bunt by Blair Farinholt, Hardy Dillard's double, and Jim McGee's buses loaded double. The Bishops added two more in the fourth when Cranz doubled and scored on a passed ball and when Farinholt, steal- ing second after beinq walked, came home in C. R. Jones' bunt.

Bishops Defeat Woodberry In Spectacular Thriller
The Bishops staged a last ditch rally after they had lost their lead to win 4-3 over the Woodberry Tigers.
The Bishops had led 2-0 going into the seventh inning, but the Tigers were ahead in their half of the in- ning, 3-2. With one out in their half of the inning, the Bishops started their drive. Farinholt tripled to deep cen- ter. Jones hit a grounder to second and Farinholt scampered home with the tying run before the throw. Jones moved to second on the throw to home. Long hit a grounder to the right side, advancing Jones to third. Roe, the next batter, hit a dribbler down the third base line and reached first before the throw as Jones scored with the winning run.
Farinholt pitched a good game and was given good support in the field as the Bishops annexed their third game in three years over the Tigers.

The Bishops p_1cked urtwo more in the third by v1rtue o walks, errors, a n d infield hits, Roe and McGee scoring.
