VISIT TO ST. JOHN'S
On April 28 the entire student body of Virginia Episcopal School made its annual "Low Sunday" visit to St. John's Episcopal Church in Lynchburg.
As usual on these occasions, the service was conducted entirely by the students and faculty of V.E.S. Mr. George L. Barton Ill, the chaplain, and Mr. Hester read the service and Dr. George L. Barton, Jr., the head- master, preached the sermon. The organ was played by Charles Hotch- kiss, the student organist, and the lessons at Morning Prayer were read by Frank Craighill and Bobby Lynn , members of the Honor Committee. The V.E.S. Choir sang " Eternal Father, Strong to Save" as the offer- tory anthem.
Almost the entire student body and many of the faculty and their families were present in the congregation.
The custom of making the trip to Saint John's on the first Sunday after Easter is a tradition of long standing a t Virginia Episcopal School. It has always been considered a great in- spiration and f)rivilege for the school to make this visit.
