An obviously superior Bishop team had no trouble winning its first game when it played Altavista. V.E.S. had 1ne height and ability all over the 1crappy little A ltavista t e a m . The game was marked by fouling on the cart of V.E.S. Every member of the s•arting five had at least three fouls. vista was Nelson with 16 points over ~a1f of his team's total score. High scorers for V.E.S. were Smith with 16 and Gregory with I0.
The 17th of February the Bishops went up to Covington for their sec- ond g a m e with t h e Boys' H o m e . V.E.S. l e d a t t h e e n d o f t h e f i r s t quarter 11-9, chiefly due to the ac- curate forwards, Dillon and Gregory. The Boys' Home team put on a drive ·n the second quarter that netted them 13 points t o t h e Bishop's 6. The Covington team then went on to win 39-34. V.E.S. fought hard all tne way led by• Gregory and Dillon in both shooting and rebounding. The rest of the team just didn't seem to have any fight. The two forwards accounted for 27 o f V.E. S. 's 34 points. H igh s c o r e r s f o r t h e Boys' Home were Ransom with 14 and Logan with 9. High scorers for the Bishops were Gregory with 15 and Dillon with 12.

Outclassing the inexperienced Bed- f o r d F r e s h m a n t e a m , t h e Ba b y B i s - hops rolled up a 45-15 victory . Taking an early 18-0 lead, the team took it easy as they· controlled the backboards and displayed great de- fensive work. Small scored 14 and Bloom hit for 8 points.
Against the Fairview "B" team, t h e Bishops p l a y e d sluggishly a n d were over-confident. The score was 39-29 in Fairview's favor, but the team was in the ball game until the fourth quarter. Small got 12 points and Wood got I0. McAIIexander had 18 for Fairview "B".
The Baby Bishops lost an early lead by scoring only I point in the 2nd quarter and were beaten 40-28 by Fairview "A". Small poured in
17 points and Smith had 13 for Fair- view.
