ALDRED AND HARPER OCCUPY NEW DUPLEX
During the Christmas holidays, the duplex apartment house for masters was completed, and was occupied by
Mr. Aldred, who moved from a three-room apartment in the infirm- ary, and Mr. Harper, who vacated the apartment on second West. The new house is tastefully decorated in pastel colors chosen by Mrs. Harper and Mrs. Aldred, and each side of the duplex is provided with a study, a living-dining area, a kitchen, three
bedrooms, and a basement for stor· age.
Mr. Meador replaced Mr. Harper as the Dorm Master on second West moving over from Mr. Wyatt's old apartment in the infirmary.

The Challenge Of Exams
Since this is exam week, it is well to note that for Juniors and Seniors exams are more important than ever. For the first time, the mid year and final tests will be counted as half of the term grade in Forms IV, V, and VI.
The purpose of this change is to prepare students for the type of courses they will get in college, where no daily grades are given, and two or three tests and an exam are the only grades re- ceived during a semester. Colleges are now requesting exam grades, in addition to term and session grades, on their transcripts.
In Forms I, II, and Ill, the exam will continue to count one-third of the term grade, but members of these forms should also take exams more seriously, to prepare themselves for the greater im- portance which will be given to big tests in the future.
Although the change may seem to be a new burden on stu- dents, times are changing, and competition is increasing. If we are prepared for that competition, we can meet it successfully.
