On January 22, a committee from the Board of Trustees called a meet- ing of alumni representing different areas of the State of North Carolina. The meeting was held in Raleigh. The purpose was to strengthen the Alumni Organization in the State by dividing the State into three parts, Eastern, Central and Western rather than try- ing to have smaller organizations in different cities. The response to the invitations was very gratifying.
Those attending, gathered at the
home of William C. (Bucky} Harris, Jr., (1930) and then went to the Country Club for dinner.
Mr. Montgomery, Headmaster, Mr. Gannaway, Alumni Secretary, AI Kemper, Ill, (1947), Bernard Reams, ( 1937), Bruce Thomson, ( 1940) a n d Romney Watkins, (1938) went from Lynchburg to attend the meeting.
Those representing the different areas of North Carolina were:

Alumni Ne-ws
We wish to thank the Alumni who have returned their questionnaires giving us valuable information. W e would greatly appreciate it if all the others who have not done so, would take a few minutes and give us the requested information.
We are working 0:1 an Alumni Register which will list every person who has attended V.E.S., so we would like to have the latest addresses. This is a big job and it is taking more time than we anticipated. When it is finished, a copy will be sent to every alumnus whose address we have. Please help us in this under- taking.
