The Vestige staff has done it again! T~e 1964 edition of the Vestige, fol- owing an age old tradition, was once again turned in to the publishers
over a month late.
A reliable source (fi'Om Hunter Press) had reported no small degree :f astonishment at the staff's meet- ·~g i t s p r e l i m i n a r y d e a d l i n e o f 1 2 oclock midnight, Jonuary II , having e full forty-five minutes to spare. ·ne meeting of this deadline, which •eretofore was unheard of in Vestige
annals, resulted in mass hysteria among heel-dragging, traditionalist eements (of which the staff is en- frely composed). More for-reaching effects made themselves apparent by a wave of sit-ins, stall-ins, sleep-ins, and walk-outs among yearbook staffs Throughout the state. In particular, •ne Hunter Publishing representative •elated t o O U R b o y s t h a t o b e - draggled St. Christopher's staff evidently gave up meeting its dead-
,e entirely.
The Vestige staff soon realized the e•ror of its ways. The next deadline, March 6, was duly stalled while the staff continued to celebrate the meeting of its first deadline. Some :ew days after that date, a sleepy Vestige staff was horrified to find the 'iunter representative lurking, in anti- c:pation o f t h e i r a r r i v a l t o M r.
Casey's Senior English class. The staff ·nereafter worked industriously-for
a day or two. By following the aissez-faire philosophy the staff sent "le last scrap of information to w:nston-Salem on Friday, April 24 , lnly 49 days late.
Contrary to popular opinion, how- ever, the staff DOES hove an excuse. The mild-mannered Vestige staff is in reality the world-(in) famous (sick)- ·umored, periodical-producing staff
of the METEOR, which had to pub- THE METEOR
!ish two editions . .. also late.
In all seriousness, this year's Vestige staff has done a terrific job. YEA, US!!
