Park. During the hike we had
visions of the van sitting on cinderblocks in the parking lot, or, even worse, having had it disappear while we were gone.
In Estes Park we ate lunch and made arrangements for dinner at the Wilson's house that night. We found a campground to
spend the night and cleaned both
our gear and ourselves. Before
going to the Wilsons' for supper
we filled the van with multiple cases of liquid tastes of the West
to take back home. That night we had a wonderful meal and the whole group ate until we could not eat anymore. Then we learned all about the big
Thompson River Flood and also we were told that it had snowed while we were in the park and
temperatures had dropped to twenty-nine degrees.
Friday, Saturday, August 13- 1 4 - We bade farewell to Long's Peak and the rest of the Rockies'
front range. From Estes Park we
left for Boulder as early as we could. In Boulder we ordered some equipment for 'V.E.S. 's Outward Bound program. From Boulder wedrovealJ day until we reached Columbia, Missouri. It was about I:00 A.M. when we
