The Varsity Tennis team ended their season with a dual match record of 7-9 and a Prep
League record of 3-4. On May 21 they played in the Prep League Tournament, finishing 5th. They earned 17 points and were narrowly beaten out of 4th place by Collegiate, who had 19
pomts.
Looking back at the season,
Mr. Foster said: "There were no surprises or upsets, but on the other hand we didn't lose to any team of less ability than ours." He said he felt that the high point of the season was the home match against Collegiate which came down to the last possible point in the doubles match played by Bill Driskill and Blitz James. It was all tied up at four games apiece going into the last game, which Collegiate managed to win and thus

The Varsity Lacrosse team
started out the season with good depth and leadership. They looked to do very well in the Prep League, but they were plagued by injuries early in the season and ended up winning only four games, tying for fifth place in the Prep League. Coach Pettyjohn feels the team could have won nine or ten games this season, but lack of depth, especially at midfield due to injuries, hurt the team in the last quarters of many games. Four senior midfielders - Dawson Rascoe, ·Bo Walker, and Billy and Bruce Carrington - deserve special credit for playing most of the games with no substitutes and still giving
100% the whole game.
The leading scorer was
Captain Billy Carrington and second to him was sophomore Ross Lynde. Leading the team in assists were Bruce Carrington and Bo Walker.
Next year there will be nine varsity players returning and some hopefuls from the J.V. Lacrosse team. With this experience, the team may be better contenders in the Prep League next spring.
