On Saturday, Oct. 29 the Varsity Football team traveled to
Richmond to take on Collegiate, for their Homecoming. Kick-off time was at 2:30. On the first possession of the day the Bishops drove from their 20 yard line all
the way down to the Collegiate 1, where they were unable to score. Taking the ball on their I, Collegiate was unable to move
the ball due to the Bishops hard nosed defense, and had to punt. The Bishops drove the ball into scoring range again, but were unable to score. Collegiate, taking the ball on their 20 yard line was held once again and had to punt. The half ended with this kind of action, but with no score.
In the second half, Collegiate's W. T. Robinson returned the kickoff to give them a 6-0 lead. The extra point attempt was no good. In the beginning of the fourth quarter, Preston Belcher scored on a 3 yard run and added an extra point to give the Bishops a 7-6 lead. But late in the fourth quarter, Collegiate scored on a 75 yard pass to W. T. Robinson to take the game 12-7. VES may have lost the game, but
they won every statistic there was, including 19 first downs to Collegiate's 5, and 303 yards of offense to Collegiate's 192. Preston Belcher carried the ball 19 times for 78 yards, and quarterback Carter Kemper completed 10 of 14 passes for 99 yards. On offense, the front line,

Next year's team will be one high caliber. Although the

Varsity experience, there will six underclassmen
letters. Captain Frank Elder lead the team with
Meador, Kipp Small, Glasscock, Eric Boyer,
Robert "Bob" Cook. Coach Jim Hornor

League Meet, however he that the teams overall dual
record was not indicative of tenacious effort put forth by
Carter Kemper releases another completion against EHS
