Earlier this year, aVES student was dismissed for usin~ Marijuana. He was consistantly on the Honor Roll. He enrolled m Advanced Placement courses, ran uack, and contributed to the school's life through his talents as an artist and a musician. This student is well-
spoken and was liked by students and faculty to an extent far beyond the norm.
Whenever a student of this caliber is dismissed from a school, it is onlyrightandlogicalforthatcommunitytotake~g~look_atitself and at the rea onf or which this tudent was dtsmt sed. Smce no examination of thi type has apparrently been taken, it is left f?r the concerned writer to expre hi view in a publication such as thts one and invite further comment from the community.
While the wide pread use of marijuana in a school can lead to disa trous re uh , and we can look back into the not-so-distant past
