This year, VES is quite for-
tunate to have four new teachers residing on its campus. These new denizens have opportunties to ofier the student body in the areas o1 music and sports as well as academics.
Mr. Rob Calvert, 22, is one
such example. A former student of VES and a native of Lynch· burg, he later attended Washing· ton and Lee, where he acquired a Bachelor degree of Arts, having majored in History and Art. Among the clas es he teaches are Core 11 and Ancient Histories.

Another new face on campus appears as Mr. James Sullivan, age 23. He attended St. Law- rence University as an under- graduate and the University of Madrid in Spain, where he ac- quired a B.A., having majored in sociology. In high school, he played basketball, squash and
oftball. In college, he was a member of a group of musicians

Mr. Sul- livan plans to continue teaching and hopes to do more travelling abroad. He comments on the warm, genial atmosphere here and on the diligence of the school

the scene. Mr. Berry, 23, and a native of Charlotte, North Caro- lina, graduated from Woodberry Forest in 1975 and from Wash· ington and Lee this spring, having acquired a Bachelor of Arts from a major in English. At W oodberry he was the Head Counselor and the captain of both the football and wrestling teams.
