On September 17, the Varsity
Bishops traveled to Orange. Vir- ginia for their season opener against Woodberry Forest. Everyone seemed to be fired up and ready to play; but early in the first quarter the Bishop de-
fense had a hole in the secondary · and gave up a 75 yard run to the Tigers. The Bishop offense seem- ed to move the ball well at first but their drive was soon stopped

. plays in that Mason Brugh had one interception and Bill Nelson had two. The Bishops line was unable to slow down the blitzing defensive ends and linebackers.

With senior David Lacy at the
goal and senior Tad Wyche at the sweeper position, the defense should hold well. Other re- turning senior lettermen, Will
Cox, Hal Rollins and Ben Keys, should help the Bishops through-
out the season. In general the Varsity Bishops feel aa thqh
they have what it takes to
them to a Prep League title, aa does the Meteor since we picked them u our number 1 fall
