The Deacons had a good season overall, with some record-breaking vic- tories, complemented by great sportmanship. T erry Hanover, the team's MVP, did a stalwart job as Cap- tain, while Mariano Lucas scored some excellent goals. Shattuck Groome did a fine job as Asst. Coach winning the Coach's award. The future remains bright for Deacon Soccer; VES can be proud of them.

The JV Soccer team completed a successful season with an 8-5-1 record. Victories were recorded over Woodber- ry Forest, Hargrave, Maury River, Trin- ity, and St. Anne's. Josh Dean led the team in scoring with 11 goals and Mi- chael Ong added 9 goals. The Defense was led by team MVP Henry Heil and goalie Stuart Mallory.
