The V arsity Soccer team built upon the strong team spirit of the past two years to forge another strong unit in 1992. Despite grad- uating the whole of the defense and returning only two starters off of last year's roster, the team found that it could truly play with the strongest teams in the League. The season's highlight was a 3-0 Parents' Weekend shut- out of Woodberry Forest. The team's strength began at the back, and the senior unit of Dean, Eckley, Chung, and Rhodes along with the goalkeeping of co- captain Eddie Bell helped drop the goals against average to the lowest average in four years. Still, the biggest turnaround was
in the attack. The team averaged the most goals per match since 1983, scoring 30 goals in 14 games. The offensive surge was led by sophomore Alex Solyom's 9 goals; teammates Joey England, Aaron Currier, Bernard Reams, and Troy Caldwell had either 3 or 4 goals each. Randy Culbertson notched 6 assists and was named All-Prep. Given the fact that the whole of the midfield and attack (except co-captain Josh Parrott) were undercalssmen, there is good reason to look forward to the fall of 1993.
Let's go Bishops!
