LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
“A mosaic consists of thousands of little stones. Some are blue, some are green, some are yellow, some
are gold. When we bring our faces close to the mosaic, we can admire the beauty of each stone. But as
we step back from it, we can see that all these little stones reveal to us a beautiful picture, telling a story Dear Cor Jesu Community,
none of these stones can tell by itself.
As Henri Nouwen so intuitively expressed, community “reveals the face of God to

and glory touch.” With the new building addition now in full operation and with the highest number of
students in Cor Jesu’s history receiving financial aid, we are extremely grateful for your
–Henri Nouwen generosity throughout the 2016-17 academic year. Without your unyielding financial
support, Cor Jesu would not be able to provide nearly $1 million in financial aid to 28
percent of our families this year. We would not be able to offer the scope of innovative
courses and programs that lay a solid foundation for students’ eventual careers and
futures. We would not be the premier Catholic high school for young women that we are
called to be within the greater St. Louis community.
Thank you for all that you have provided for our students this past academic year. As
a community of faith, we are charged with a profound responsibility to all students
entrusted to us and to those who will attend Cor Jesu in the future to uphold our
Catholicity, mission and academics to the highest of standards, empowering our students
intellectually, spiritually and morally to serve as responsible members of the global
community.
Thank you, on behalf of our students, administration, faculty, staff and Advisory Council
members, for helping Cor Jesu create “a beautiful picture” that is the Heart of Christ
revealed within our community and in our world.
May the Sacred Heart bless you and your family abundantly,
Sr. Barbara Thomas, ASCJ
President
