               Dear Friends,
               Sunday, August 6, 2017, brought together over 1,200 members of the Cor Jesu community to celebrate the
               Liturgy of Thanksgiving and Dedication of our new building with Archbishop Carlson. This moment held
               profound experiences of joy and gratitude, pride and awe for all of us, as we were touched by the vision,
               generosity, trust and spirit that serves as the foundation of the new building and the cornerstone of excellence in
               Catholic education for young women.

               As I stood with Cor Jesu’s past five principals, I recalled the efforts each of them made to ensure that Cor Jesu
               stayed true to its mission and offered the finest education for young women here in St. Louis. We would not be
               where we are today, unless each of these women had held fast to the mission and core values of CJA. On August
               6, we did not just dedicate and bless a new space, we celebrated the 60-year mission of Cor Jesu Academy, the
               commitment of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the 6,000-plus alumnae of Cor Jesu who are changing
               our world, the trust and commitment of CJ’s donors, and the 600 current CJ students who, each day, engage in
               exhilarating moments of learning.

               with a dance instructor from New York City; the Law and Legal Systems class enjoying their new room’s
               teleconferencing capabilities; Chinese IV perfecting their language skills in the relaxed space of the seminar
               room; the freshmen in Study Skills analyzing note-taking styles in small groups in the collaborative classroom;
 departments & features and the Government class configuring their flexible furniture into a large circle for a class discussion. Learning
