Blessed Clelia Merloni, the
foundress of the Apostles
of the Sacred Heart of
Jesus, tells us, “When love
is from the heart, there
arises a great desire to have
God known, loved and
served.” She truly loved
from the heart, making
Blessed Clelia it her mission to meet

the needs of the young
LEGACY SOCIETY people she encountered

by opening schools and
orphanages. Her mission
was to ensure that every young girl would receive the
finest education possible, and in the process, she drew
those young girls’ hearts to know the Sacred Heart.
In honoring the intent of both Blessed Clelia Merloni and Cor Jesu’s
founding principal, Sr. Anita Marie Giampetro, ASCJ, our long-term goal
is to ensure all qualified students have access to a Cor Jesu education.
As a means to achieve this important goal, we have established
a new giving society—the Blessed Clelia Legacy Society.
