mathematics
Math isn’t just a numbers game; it’s an adventure, as students investigate,
analyze, model, predict, and discover. Students examine the use of
real-world applications to illustrate and reinforce mathematical ideas.
And it works in the other direction, too. Mathematical concepts help
explain real-world phenomena. As you learn problem-solving strategies,
you’ll develop mathematical habits of mind that can be used everywhere
– writing, music, and of course in scientific experimentation. We build
our program around four core courses – geometry, algebra, precalculus,
and calculus – with most students choosing to study further, through
linear algebra, multi-variable calculus, and beyond. Advanced Studies
allows students to delve into college-level courses, and a range of
electives rounds out the curriculum.
