Tucker, Bishop of the Diocese of Southern Virginia, was throughout simple and beautiful. ::.Uuch of this beauty was added by the singing of the choir, and especially by a duet rendered by :.\!iss C. Christian and Mr. H. C. Christian, both of Lynchburg, the latter a student o£ the school. In the course of the service Dr. J ett gave a short address of thanks for the many generous .,.ifts contributed by the numerous friends of tho school, but
:specially to 1\Ir. c.·D. J.anghorne, o£ Greenwood, Ya., 'vho made possible the erection of the chapel. Dr. J ett also .wel- comed any one who might desire to attend the serv1ces, expressly stating that it was for the use of ~II, not merely fot the boYS of the school. \Yednesday evening, l\Iay 1st, tlte poor, abused, hard- worked :..\IETEOR staff went to town aud saw, as a reward of their faithful labors, "The ::.Uiustrcls of the 318th Virginia Reoiment" which was greatly enjoyed. Owing to the lack of 7ime, :special dinner ordered at the Virginian Hotel for this occasion was postponed.
L. B. :..\lead has been unable to return to school from his home in Roanoke, Va., since Easter, owing to an a~tack of inflammatory 1·heumatism. It is hoped that he wtll soon reco\·er.
