Right there he saw a king who was very fat and funny
looking. .
"lie must cat a lot," thought Billy; "I wonder d he would
mind O'ivinoo me something to cat? I am about to star\·e." bb•
lie asked the king, who, upon learning Billy's dcs1rc, rang for his scn·ants. Ile commanded them to feed Billy. Billy was taken into a room and there he saw turkeys, cake, plum pudding, and every other kind of viand which would appeal to a hungry boy. Billy ne\·er t)10nght there ·was so much to eat in the world. He began eating and eating. He ate all
day and then he weighed. He weighed 125 pounds.. PreYi- ously he bad weighed only 96 pounds. Ile ate still more. lie ate all the next day. Suddenly he exploded. He started flying to Heaven, but when he got there l1e could not open the Pearly Gates. He was in great distress. He yelled for
St. Peter to let him in.
The gates were opened and an old man with a c~ne, and
a beard three feet long, came out. He looked at Btlly and asked him bow be bad happened to come there. Billy said, " I ate so much I exploded."
St. Peter said, "Get out of hero. We don't have pigs here."
lie kicked Billy and Billy went do·wn and down. IIo came to the fire. It frightened him, nnd he ran with all of his might. Soon he came to a sign which said, "Southeast of
Nowhere."
"Ab " said Billy "if this is Southeast of Nowhere, I will

go toNowhere." . .
So by going northwest, he soon came to a stahon wh10h had "Nowhere" written on it.
IIo entered a restaurant, where men were making out they were eating, but they had nothing in front of them to eat.
lie ordered some sonp. Soon the waiter came and made out as if he were putting some soup in front of Billy.
"Where is the soup~" said Billy.
