PROSPECTS FOR BASKET-BALL AND
WRESTLING GOOD Three Basket-ball Letter Men Back
Under the watchful eye of Coach Wbite the 1927 Virginia Episcopal Basketball team is rapidly gaining shape. Goldsmith, Farinholt, and Young, three of last year's letter
men, are again in uniform, and do not seem to have lo t any of their past ability . Goldsmith is jumping center better than ever, Farinholt is doing very nicely on the defensive, while Young, on the offensive, finds little difficulty in locating the basket. A few others who seem to know their positions well are Spruill, Barber, and Robinson as forwards, and H. Lewis as guard. •
The schedule, although compara- tively little harder than usual, is
not to be taken lightly. The s·eason • is to be officially opened January
15th.
Wrestling, which is being coached by Mf Harmeling, has also many good prospects. P errine, J ., is

DRAMATIC SOCIETY'S THREE ONE-ACT PLAYS
SCORE HUGE SUCCESS
Program Given Night of December 11th Hailed as Best Yet
The V. E. S Dramatic Society en- tertained a large crowd made up of the student body and many visitors with a trio of one-act plays on the evening of Saturday, December 11th. The newly formed school orchestra furnished music for the occasion.
All the plays were greatly success- ful from the standpoint that laugh- ter and cheering resounded through- out the Barksdale Gymnasium time and time again. There was h·ardly a dull moment from the time the first note was sounded by the orches- tra until the curtain dropped on the final clinch which marked the end-
ing of the last play.
The first play, ' Q," by Stephen
Leacock, kept the crowd in a contin- uous uproar. The action of the play took place in Jack Annerly's apart- ments in London. 'fhe plot cen- tered around the efforts of Annerly, a young gentleman in sad need of some ready cash, to humbug George Gnoof, a spiritualist.• Gneof, with almost unbelievable credulity, and to the high amusement of the audience, allows himself to be swindled out of a large sum of money.
Hugh Sudduth, as Annerly, ap- peared resplendent in a gorgeous
100-pound class, while his brother, Perrine, W., seems to be outstand- ing in the 120-pound class. Con- stantine is doing very well with the 140-pounders, and in the unlimited class Walton is a promising pros-
pect.
The basket-ball schedule, as ar-
ranged by Mr. Crockett, is as fol- lows:
Jan. 15-Danville Military Insti- tute, there.
Jan. 19-W. & L. Freshmen, here.
Jan. 22 - Hargrave Military Academy, there.
Jan. 29-Episcopal High School, here.
