April 19-A surprisingly strong
Hargrave :Military Academy nine overcame a listless Bishop baseball team today in the Hargrave Dust Bowl by a 16 to 3 score. Lee started on the mound for V. E. S. and was relieved by Chergey in the fifth. "AI" Williams came in to pitch from third base in the eighth. and baffled the opposition with his blooper pitch for one inning.
Hargrave took advantage of a big fourth inning in which the Cadets tallied seven runs on two hits, a couple of passes, and four Bishop errors.
V. E. S. went scoreless until the top of the fifth when Curtis Per- kins drew a walk, took second on an error and scored on Herrick's grounder. Lee tallied t h e second Garnet run in the fifth after being forced in by three bases on halls. Lee's single drove home \Villiams
with the final Garnet counter in the sixth.
llilbish started for Hargrave, but went wild in the fifth. hitting one man and walking three. Draughon moved in from right field to hurl steady ball for the remainder of the contest.

over a run in the top of the eighth to edge out a fighting Bishop nine 5 to 4 at "\lexandria this afternoon.
Chergey toed the rubber for V . E. S. throughout most of the con- test and pitched excellent hall. Rob- bie Lee came in to twirl in the last of the seventh and did a splendid job of t elief hurling. Restein did the flinging chore for E. II. S.
Neither team was able to break the deadlock until Episcopal tallied three runs in the last of the third on three passes, an error. and Mc- Cormick's base knock. V . E. S. threatened several times but was unable to score until the fifth.
In the first of the fifth, Long led off with a sharp single to left cen- ter. \Villiams, Lee, a nd Bettv walked in quick succession. ti1U-S forcing in Long with the first Bishop run, and Williams scored shortly after on an Episcopal error.

Edgar Betty then drove in the tying run with a long fly to Goodman in center and Lee scored immediately after as \Vest dropped the throw in.
Going into the last of the sev- enth in the previously arranged seven-inning game the Bishops needed only to put three men away and victory would be theirs. But Richards singled and worked his way around the bases to tie the score and Daniel, leading off in the eighth, tallied the winning run to give Episcopal a heart-breaking vic- tory.
Miller School 17 ; V. E. S. 6
April 2 8 - A hard-hitti ng baseball nine from Miller School invaded \'. E. S. this afternoon and defeated a team of Bishops that looked entire- ly different from the squad that had barely lost to E. H. S. the pre- vious Saturday. The score read 17 to 6.
Two big innings enabled the Al- bermarleians to win out hy such a high score. T he Miller Men scored six runs in the second and nine in their half of the seventh. Chergey and Lee shared the pitching duties for V. E. S.
:\1atthews scored the first Bishop run in the third after forcing Chergey, who had singled. V. E. S. countered three times in the fourth on free passes to Betty and Perkins. two errors, Chergey's single, and Hodgson's double.
Hodgson smashed another two bagger in the sixth to drive in the fifth Garnet run, and Lee tallied the final marker in the seventh on Bet- ty's single to center.
