Rec. R. R. Beasley was recently ap-
pointed Rector of the St. John's Episcopal Church in Roanoke.
S. Linton Smith recently presented a copy of his book, "S. S. Lunga Point," to the V. E. S. library.
1926
Sons of the Alumni
The following alumni have sons at V. E. S.: Mr. T. H. Maddux, father of Web and Tuck, was here in 1917-22. Mr. E. M. Braxton attended V. E. S. in 1919-22, and now his son Elliot is a second-year boy. Bob Whitaker's father attended classes here in 1916-
19. Bob is a promising candidate on the football squad. Mr. Langhorne was in school in V. E. S. from 1919 to 1921 and has sent his son, Wm. H. Langhorne, here th is year. Cardwell 's father came to V. E. S. in the 1917- 1918 session. Mr. Kemper, " Bunny's" father, was at V. E. S. during 191 7- 1918, now Albert is in his third year at V. E. S. and is a counselor and a dependable asset of the football team.
