Charlie has mode a great name for himself in t h e field o f basketball. Along with this he has worked earn- estly with his studies, especially with his favorite subject, Latin. In the past year he has become an active mem- ber in the V Club, the Union of Bull Shooters, and the G. D. Union. Be- tween Lynchburg women and efforts to get in shape for basketball, he is having a gala time. As a resident in the famous halls of Second West for the second time, Carty has become popular with the student body, and will be seen putting forth his greatest efforts when basketball season rolls around. He is one of the hardest- working members of The Meteor staff, its sports editor.

As an up and coming center on the varsity football squad, he has made quite a showing. Scholastically he is doing fine. Earl is a very popular guy.
