By the Old Astronomer
The Old Astronomer sits on a trunk
with his feet propped up on a pile of empty beer cases. He's composing his own valedictory. After many months of thinking, he's finally come to the conclusion that it's time to move on. The old tower os isn't get- ting ony younger, and he feels the need of a new 'scope. The old one hos been too reliable lately. In a nutshell, the joint's getting stale, so he decides to give t he shove-off. And since his friends in the Classy Class are also soon to be off, he may as well go with them.
Now who'll he go with? There's that lovable proboscis, none other than the "Nose," who's thinking of giving Kansos a whirl this summer. Then he's toking leave to California . .. mebbe he could hitch a ~ide with Johnson. Always did want to see the West. 'Course, if he's got a hanker- ing to go to the beach, oil he'll have to do is pile into any cor, and he'll wind up at one sooner or later. 'Nether place he might enjoy himself is to find out where Stanley broke his glasses, and take the hint. Now, the old boy ain't got no glasses, but it isn't a necessity.
