1941
Mr. and Mrs. Evans Willson Lind- sey of Salem, Virginia, onnounced the engagement of their daughter, Eliza Willson, to Armistead Jones of Richmond, Virginia, on the first of January, 1950. Mr. Jones is a grad- uate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute, and served in the Army Air Corps for three years during the last war.
1947
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Oscar Reeves announced the marriage of their daughter, Elizabeth Ann, to Beverly Lake Barge of Durham, North
Carolina. The ceremony was per- formed on the first of January.
Phil Harmon of Christiansburg, Vir- ginia, visited the school on the week- end of January 14.
John M. Page of Hanover, New Hampshire, visited the school during the Christmas vacation. While at V. E. S. he was head counselor for two years and now goes to school at Dartmouth.
1948
Austin Saffer, Jr., of Arlington,
Va., was here over the weekend of February 3. He is attending Hamp- den-Sydney.
1949
Widdie Fennell of Lynchburg, Vir-
ginia, stopped by the school while home on a weekend from William and Mary.
The following alumni were here over the Mid-Winters weekend of January 28. We were glad to see them and hope to see them again soon.

still with us.

And the Meteor would like to use a different title on this one. It goes something like, "The Meteor thinks a lot of ..." The picture of him here is a familiar one, both real to the stu- dents, and in the memory of the alumni. It would be impossible to name all the favors he has done for the boys, and for the school, itself. Rather, we'd just like to take time- out to express our very sincere grati- tude for everything, broad, though that may be.
