In 1945 Mr. Shore joined the Navy ond served as a meteorologist on a weather ship in the Pacific. After two years of duty he was discharged in November of 1947.
Turning back to his education, Mr. Shore entered Appalachian State Teachers' College where he remained four years. He was graduated from this institution in May of 1951 with a B.S. degree in science. A chemistry major, Mr. Shore graduated with honors. He was a member of the Forum Club and various other cam- pus organizations.
During the past summer, Mr. Shore held a clerical job with Piedmont Air- lines.
Mr. Shore will reside here with his wife, whom he married in August. Mrs. Shore has accepted a position with the Lynchburg Public Schools. She also is a graduate of Appalachian.
