V. E. $.-Brookville
Virginia Episcopal School romped to an easy 38-0 win over their cross-city foe Brookville under the lights of municiple stadium. A very measly crowd saw the Bishops hit for three lightning like T. D.'s in the initial quarter and then coast to the win. In the second half the Junior Varsity took over for a while and did very well.
The first quarter saw V. E. S. score six plays after Brookville quick kicked on second down. Miltie Barber th rew to Harvey Farinholt for the six point- er and Davidson split the uprights with his kick to make it seven. "Blank" Hughes scored next on a 55 yard jaunt around right end. The Bee's could do nothing and when V. E. S. again got the ball, Farinholt jump passed t'O Charlie Kellogg all by him- self in the clear. That made it 19-0. Midway in the second quarter Milt
Barber gathered in a Brookville punt and raced 44 yds. down the sidelines for the fourth T. D. of the half. A
Hutter opened the second half in a big way as he dashed 75 yds. be- hind splendid blocking for still another score. The final Bishop tally came on a pass from Farinholt to halfback Bill Stephenson. The play covered 45 yds. That was all the scoring for the night as Coach Schulte cleared the bench.
The Bishops were never in danger. The first half saw the powerful V. E. S. line continually throw Brookville back for losses. Their net gain rushing for the half was -22. For the whole game it was 14 yards. In the 4th quarter with Bishop reserves in the game Bee quarterback Bob McCanna drove his team to the V. E. S. 26 but that was all the far they could go. A fitting climax was this game to the Bishop football season. Their record was 5-3.
