His grades have nearly always been well in the 90's. For the past three years, John has rendered invaluable service to the Meteor, this year serving in the capacity of Co-Editor. The Meteor's new face was designed by John also. He has earned a good name for the school paper wherever he has dealt. Aside from being the backbone of
the Meteor staff, he has been in charge of the Altar Guild, the Cruci- fer and on the Pep Committee for two years. John is a counselor this year on 2nd East Main.

Bill come to V.E.S. three years ago, on since then has distinguished him- self highly. He has played junior var- sity football and basketball, and last spring won his varsity letter with 15 hard earned points at running the mile on the Track team. He received his second "V" by managing the foot- ball team this year. But by no means are this guy's talents limited to sports. Bill is a counselor this, his last, year at ole V.E.S., and something that we mustn't forget is; that he is co-busi- ness manager of the Meteor. Be (which is another alias) hopes to take up engineering next year although where, he does not know. The schol- astic averoges have always found Be in very good standing. Bill is a very hard and sincere worker, as proved by his accomplishments. This is a great attribute Bill; keep it up. Wherever next year will find you, always remember V.E.S., it will re- member you.

This second-rate Errol Flynn hit our puddle of knowledge about four years ago and has made quite a few ripples in it since. He proved to us
that he had some brains by continual- ly staying up on the study out list.
Along the line of athletics he he~s played J. V. football for three years. Last year he crashed into all-city rating through the guard slot. This boy with wings on his feet is one of the five lettermen returning for an- other year of that wonderful running down in "Death Valley."
Seriously, this boy from the Tide- water has really hit it off right with the boys around here. J immie is also an acolyte in the chapel services.
Next year Jim will be over at W&L where we know he will continue the fine record that he had here at V. E. S.
