Homecoming Day
On October 18th, Alumni started
gathering about ten o'clock and by lunch time there was a goodly num- ber of old boys and their wives and children. The boys of the school had lunch early and the Alumni Luncheon was at one o'clock in the school din- ing room. P r e s i d e n t Beverly H u t t e r called on Dr. Barton, Headmaster, to say grace. Mrs. Bates, school dietitian, had prepared an excellent lunch. President Hutter welcomed those present and urged all to donate to the Alumni Fund. He also asked that a greater interest be shown by the Alumni in sending boys to school. Dr. Barton and Mr. Banks were called upon for short talks. Robert A. Ma- gill, treasurer, reported that for the coming year 170 Alumni contributed $544.
Mr. Gannaway reported on the Association in general, stating that a large number of Alumni had not bothered to return their cards.
The following officers were elected for the c o m i n g year; President,

J. W. Gannaway, Secretary
It is not too late to return your cards and dues are still acceptable. We would like to know whether or not we have correct addresses. Over twelve hundred Meteors were mailed during the week before Homecoming. It was hoped that half of the Alumni would respond.

Help!
The J. V.'s slithered off to Brook- ville to ploy a football game last Saturday and what a bug was laid. It seems that Jesse had his understudy handling the Greyhound for the long trip (70 miles), and the journey proved too much for the poor soul. Big blasts of black smoke issued from the back of said Greyhound so said driver headecl for help.
And what do you think the poor helpless football players did? Well, "Footsie" Parker seemed to flake out in front of the bus so naturally "No" and 'Duals" threw their coats over him. And for some odd reason a truck and four ca rs stopped. A beautiful nurse jumped out of one auto and headed for the bus but no sooner had "Footsie" laid eyes on the damsel he was on his feet. To add to the con- fusion a couple of State cops rolled up to the scene of the crime. Some of the playful lads took it upon them- selves to play news announcer so they yelled encouraging phrases into the cop's radio. Things were just be- ginning to rock when the poor bus driver came back. Anyway the team rocked later with a solid 13-0 win over the Brookville J. V.'s.
