V. E. S. Opens With Win Over Bedford
'n their first game of the season, lhe battling Bishops nabbed a 52-33 verdict over Bedford 's Otters. The key man in the Bishop offense was the Ace himself, Blair Farinholt, who clicked for 19 points.
The Bishops swung away to a 13-6 lead in the first quarter, but Bedford rallied somewhat in the second and the count was 22-18 at the half.
Led by Farinholt and Jim Woolery, the V. E. S. squad put the game on ice in the second half. Goon Nash played a terrific game under the boards. W oolery and co-captains Milt Barber and No Smith followed Farinholt's pace, each tallying 9.
Bishops Bow At Orange
Virginia Episcopal School's basket- ball team couldn't solve Woodberry Forest's defense and suffered a 40-27 setback on the winner's home court.
Although W oodberry's high-scor- ing forward, Tom James, was held to a single point, the slack was taken up by Smith and Paine of the winners.
