The Ole Astrologer
The warm sunshine of Sprinq wakes the old Astrologer in his stellar bed among the clouds.
"Hmmm," he says, "Spring vaca- tion is over; time to check up on the
160 acres."
Eeling down a rainbow, the Old
Man is greeted in campus by long fac~s and blood shot eyes. Yep, spnng vacation is over, just look at the suntan and pot-bellies.
Ah, spring again, and the young men's fancies lightly turn to thoughts of Blue Dahlias and other Spring Flowers. Other s p r i n g changes meet !he Old Man's eye. Say-who's that 1n the tan suit? Why, it's J. W. G. Hisold suit is in the tub full of blue ink, getting Jyed back to the color it was before last winter.
Violent noises and sounds of con- flict greet the Old Man as he strolls through the halls. Who is it? Is it Milton and his friend Cloid? No, it's only the Texas Kid, keeping his long- horns in line. McClure tries to help out Tex, but Tiger Man is up to his full strength and attacks Sargent and Doug with the full force of his boom- ing voice.
Spring also brings another menace. Special meeting of the faculty to stop the MENACE! Revision of the rules; terrorized people running about.... Has "the Sac of Uranium" returned? No, just Peeker in Bermuda shorts.
Great White Father tries to stamp out Peeker's followers by nabbing them as they eel into the "dining" hall. Great White Father was afraid that John Wallace would follow· Peeker's example.
. Sid and his boys roll up after a jaunt to Fla. Rumor has it that Sid and boys set fire to the car so they'd worry Daddy Headman. But this, of course, cannot be true. Sid's buddy, Mr. Yardstick, says that they should have dpne a little thinking before go- ing on the trip.

Sid and his same buddy try to cut each other up over who has the most suntan. Cowper adds his two cents but is quickly sliced by Sid's knife carrying buddy.
The Old Astrologer wonders why Sid's buddy doesn't straighten his tie. The Old Man sees "Rubberlegs" Don setting a good example for his hero-worshippers by dragging on his
weeds at practice.
The Mighty Rockites bites the dust
at the hands of the Fishburnites.
Hose gets P. O.'d because the pro scouts were too busy looking at Blair to notice Hose's homer. "Charlie"
sympathizes with Hose.
A hairy refuge from the jungle in-
vades the school. What it it? When asked what they think of it:
Spencer: Look at that Scodie beard.
Hunt: Gung Ho!
McClure: Now they can't stop me when I grow one.
Sid: Good thing my buddy doesn't grow one.
Parker: I wish I could grow one; so does Razor.
J. W. G.: He should do a little thinking.
Great White Father: This will be dealt with accordingly.
Rope: There seems to be some dis- crepancy in his ideas.
The owner of the thinq says: I like it. I like it. What is it? Ask Zip Zettler. The Old Astrologer smiles and says: Well, some people just have to be different I guess. Sage face.
Dressing quickly, Great White Father descends the stairs to wait for Quillen and his friends. Quillen arrives and smiles sheepishly at his "Daddy." But "Daddy," with apparently no sense of humor, rings down the cage
for next month. Bill Quill has come to the conclusion that his "Daddy" doesn't appreciate a good joke. The iron hand of the Great White Father has dealt with him accordingly.
With this, the Old Astrologer de- cides that he has stayed long enough and, catching a passing cloud with his sky hook, he returns to the beckon- ing blue, where Johnson and " Bos- sie" do not exist, there to remain until he must again visit VES.
