V. E. S. Drops Second
The Bishops for the second game in a row came up with a bad fifth inning and the Bedford Otters took advantage and went on to a I0-5 win.
V. E. S. didn't play the brand of ball that we are capable of and all told committed 7 errors. Burford of Bedford checked the Bishops with 8 hits while Daughtry was hit for 9 in 4 I-3 innings and Farinholt gave up 1,-in 2 2-3 innings.
Deadlocked
With a battle of who had the best scorebook the Bishops and the Cadeh of A. M. A. played to a 10-10 tie.
After the first 8 innings the score was tied at I0-10. The Cadets, be- lieving they had won the game, left the field. After convincing them that the score was tied, it was then too late to continue.
Farinholt saved the day wher• he relieved Dillard, who came in for starter Daughtry, and struck ou7 4 of the 5 men he faced.

Young Rockmen Shine
The VES Junior Varsity, after two weeks of gruelling practice under Coach Wyatt, opened the season by lambasting the Bedford Young Ot- ters, 16-4. The rampaging Bishops were led by Hartwell Gary with three hits and were given outstanding p i t c h i n g b y D a n n y P a y n e . Donny Grimes also shone with some timely hitting and daring base running [as· sisted nobly by Coach Garnett). The Bishops took their second game from Appomattox by a 14-9 count, being led again by Grimes and Judge Dii- lard. The team looks sharp, although hampered by the loss of Fireball Phil- pot to the Horseshoe Pit. Comment by Fat Boy, "Sweet Lips· was too much." Danny Payne is at present the best pitcher, and the infield looks set with Bob Gillespie, Frank Dunn, Davie Hyer, Jim Reebals, Frank Craighill and Emily Post the standouts. The outfield is solid too, consisting of Donny Grimes, Hart Gary, and P. B. Winfree, and occasionally Sabe, the elephant boy. The Quincymen seem set to move this year!

Fishburn Wins 5-2
Pitcher Jim Hartburger disproved
the old adage that pitchers can't hit as he drove in 54 runs with 2 home runs and a single to lead Fishburne to a 5 2 victory at V. E. S.
It was a hard dose to swallow for Blair Farinholt who pitched brilliant boll. "Doc" McClure drove in both of the Bishops' runs with a home run
to deep center field. Charlie Kellogg was on base after beating out a tap
