John S. Dunn was out to see the
Norfolk Academy game. He lives in Alexandria, Va.

Quintus Hutter was seen at the game with No rfolk Academy. He played fullback for V. E. S. and then for Virginia.
Wilson Porterfield stopped to see us recently. We did not have an active address for him. He lives in
Augusta, Georgia. 1931
Robert W. Daniel of the Faculty of the University of Tennessee is now in Athens, Greece where he is lecturing on American Literature at the Uni- versity of Athens. A Fulbright Scholar. Congratulations.
Starke Mundy won the Junior Vir- ginia State Skeet Shooting champion- ship at Hot Springs.
Lt. Col. Hal P. Costolo, former Math Instructor and Coach at V.E.S., has been awarded the silver medal of honor in sports by the French Government.
Holcomb Crockett, former Science instructor at V.E.S. paid us a short call the other day. He lives in Rich- mond. He had just taken his daugh- ter to Hollins College.
1945
We regret to report the death of William Bull Hedrick. He was killed when a transport plane crashed into a mountain in Japa n. All seventeen passengers were killed. He was mar- ried and leaves a young son whom he had not seen. He left school to go into the Navy and later went from the ranks to the Naval Academy and was commissioned.
1946
Frank H. Smith was married on August 24 to Jean Schaeffer of Knoxville, Tennessee. He is a senior at North Carolina State College studying Architecture.
1949
Stuart Harris and Warren Koontz
have returned from an extended trip through Europe. They are medical students at Virginia.
