CLASS PROPHECY
(Continued from pege 17, col. I)
"Tinker Bells" with his little clown "Dennis";
"Bells" with his odd rules no longer a menace;
"Rock" and his worrying about next year's teams;
And "Yo", not as cool as he thinks he seems.
Here ends my tale, the future's fore- told!
Here's good luck to all, both the young and the old!
May we always keep striving for what seems the best,
And be outstanding graduates of our dear V.E.S.
LIBRARY NEWS

scholars describing every facet of life in England in the time of Shakes- peare. It is an unusually fine set and a great asset to our library.
A number of biographies of literary figures added much to t he library. Among those given to us were Win- war's Poor Splendid Wings, the life of Rossetti; Maurois' Ariel, the well- known biography of Shelley; Hine's life of Charles Lamb; May Sinclair's The Three Brontes, Mumford's Her- man Melville, and several others. Other biographies include Acker- man's life of George Eastman, James' life of Andrew Jackson, Barrington's Anne Bole yn, Van Loon's life of Rembrandt, Southey's famous Life of Nelson, Belloc's Cranmer, Guedalla's Mr. Churchill, and George Washing- ton Carver's autobiography, Up From Slavery.
Additions to the field of recent - history are always welcome, and sev-
eral highly significant ones were in-
cluded in Mrs. Gleason's gift. Among
the most important were the first two volumes of Winston Churchill's his- tory of World War II, Their Finest
Hour and The Gathering Storm, as well as his Blood, Sweat and Tears. Eisenhower's Crusade in Europe is another valued addition. Gunther's Inside Asia and William L. Shirer's Berlin Diary give interesting and use- ful comments on phases of modern history, and The War in Maps, a collection of war maps from the New York Times, will prove uniquely use- ful.
