JAYVEES, NELSON COUNTY BATTLE TO 13-13 TIE
A Jayvee with Nelson County re- sulted in a tie which left 13 points on the scoreboard for each team, as the Nelson County team came from behind, to tie the V. E. S. J. V.'s late in the fourth quarter.
The first V. E. S. score came in the second quarter after Brian Walker recovered a Nelson County punt blocked by Turner Bunn on the Nel- son County 30. Two plays later Sandy Cunningham carried on a spec- tacular left and sweep resulting in 22 yards and six points.
V. E. S. scored early in the second half receiving the ball on their 41- yard line. Hutter took the ball on their 41-yard, three downs later off left tackle and romped for 52 yards for the score including half the Nelson County team. A spot pass to Haynsworth gave the Bishops 13 points.
Nelson County lost their only scor- ing chance in the third quarter, when Sandy Cunningham recovered a fum- ble inside the Bishop's one-yard line.
The first seven points fo r Nelson County, early in the fourth quarter, belonged to Gene Bord as he recov- ered a fumble on the V. E. S. I0, car- ried around right end for the touch- ':lown and again off left tackle for the extra point.
The second touchdown for Nelson County came with less than half a minute remaining in the game. A long desperation pass from Hugh Wright to Ronald Clark resulting in a totaf yardage of 70 yards, paid off for the big Green for they came from behind to tie the V. E. S. J. V.'s.

GLASS WEARS DOWN BABY BISHOPS 27-0
The Baby Bishops got off to a poor start by fumbling on their own 18 shortly after the kick off resulting in the first Glass T. D. two plays later.
There was no stopping the fired up Glass team and they scored again in the first quarter winding up a 55- yard drive. Their third touchdown came in the second quarter climaxed by two spectacular runs totaling 65 yards and seven more points.
The V. E. S. team started to dig in and started gaining ground before the half ran out. They held the Hill- toppers to one score in the second half which was the result of a 50-yard drive.
Hansen was the outstanding player for the Baby Bishops taking several Bonfoey handoffs good for more than six yards apiece.
JV's Turned Back 20 to 7 By Appomattox
The Baby Bishops showed plenty of spirit as they held the Appomattox JV's to a 20 to 7 victory. The score was tied 7 all going into the fourth quarter, but Appomattox scored twice, the first being on the first play of the period. The majority of +he first three quarters were played in Appomattox territory.
The lone V. E. S. score came in the third quarter on a Hutter to Bon- foey pass taking 41 yards and a touchdown. Hard running John Redic carried off tackle for the extra point.
JAYVEES DROP TO AMHERST 0-19
The Jr. Bishops got off to a good start against the Amherst varsity, but it only lasted for the first quarter. After a V. E. S. punt early in the second quarter Amherst completed a pass good for 30 yards to the Bis- hops' 6. Two plays later Amherst was out in front 6 to nothing. Their second touchdown also came in the second quarter climaxed by an end sweep good for 20 yards and 7 more points.
In the second half the Jr. Bishops had a strong drive under way with a Temple to Hutter pass netting 32 yards, but on the next play another went astray and was intercepted.
The final score came early in the fourth quarter when a 45-yard drive resulted in a touchdown for Amherst: Final score, Amherst 19, V. E. S. 0.
135-LB. TEAM LOSES TO NELSON COUNTY, 7-14
The Baby Bishops played their best game thus far this season as they invaded Nelson County. Both teams were evenly matched during the first quarter which settled down to be a defensive battle. The Bishops drove down to the Nelson County six in the second quarter, aided by Hutter
passes to Bonfoey and Mansfield, un- til one found its way into the arms of a Nelson County back. The Baby Bishops' only score came two plays later when Churchill intercepted a pass on the 20 and returned it for a touchdown. Hutter carried for the extra point.
