BISHOPS ROUT MILLER SCHOOL 47-0
Led by the running of Halfbacks Stewart Orgain, Bev Hutter, and Full- bllck Tom Parker, the Virginia Epis- coplll School Bishops mauled hapless lv1 ler School 47-0.
P11rker scored on runs o f t h r e e , +h"rty-six, and thirty-seven yards, and r11n an extra point, scoring nineteen points to lead the Bishops. The Bishop offense, moving out of the "ew single wing formation, racked up 276 yard on the ground, while the VES defense held the Miller ground a++ack to a minus five yeards.
h the first quarter, VES, moving fifty-eight yards the first time they •11d the ball, chalked up the game's ~rst TD when Orgain scored on a forty-four yard run. The next time ·~ey held the ball, the Bishops, with ·~e aid of Hutter and Parker, scored 11gain when Hutter cracked off t11ckle for a touchdown from eight y11rds out.
VES had the ball only once in the second period, but it was enough, as Hutter led a seventy-eight yard touchdown drive with runs of thirty- one and fifteen yards before Parker pl"nged over from the three.
St~~nley Cunningham took the sec- ond half kickoff and returned it up- l:eld fifty• yards and then latera led lo Orgain who took it for fifteen yards more before he was stopped. A clip- pmg penalty, however, against the Bishops brought the ball back to the Miller School thirty-six. Then on the first play, Tom Parker bolted up the middle for a score.

Midway in the third period, B"shops, s t a r t i n g o f f o n t h e M i l l e r twenty-one, scored in three fast ground plays, Parker picked up seven, and Hutter smashed to the two. Then ...anny Pratt plunged over.
WILLIAM FLEMING EDGES JV's 7-0
William Fleming High School's JV team received the opening kickoff and ran it back to their own thirty- five; then the Bishops' defense came into the game and held W. F. for the rest of the quarter.
Fleming took a punt in the sec- ond quarter and returned it forty yards; on the next play, their fullback skirted the end for the only score of the game.
On the first offensive play of the game by the Bishops, Hortenstine, playing right half in the T formation, crashed through the line and gallop- ed forty-four yards for a first down. The Bishops, sparked by the running of Kennedy and Wright, drove with- in the Fleming twenty, but W. F. tightened its defense and the Bish- ops were unable to move.
In the first half there were many drives by• each team into the other's territory, and, except for the score in the second quarter, neither team was able to hit pay dirt. The rain started to come down in the second half and both teams were handicap- ped by this.

BISHOPS LOSE TO HALIFAX COUNTY, 20-7
The Virginia Episcopal School Bishops, after battling it out neck and neck with the Halifax Countians for the first half, collapsed in the second half and lost the game 20-7.
VES' lone touchdown came in the end of the second quarter when Stewart Orgain went four y·ards around end for the score. Bill Lee converted successfully to finish the Bishop's scoring for the night. The first half ended in a 7-7 tie.
After going ahead 13-7 in the third period, the Halifax team wrap- ped it up in the last quarter when the state's leading scorer, Dave Ram- ney scored on a short plunge.
The Bishop interior line was hurt when, on the opening play of the game, Claude Freeman, hefty first string center, was injured. Bill John- son played the remainder of the game in Freeman's place.
The VES reserve corps took over in
the fourth quarter and Tom Parker but couldn't returned to the line long enough to pigskin.
