V. E. S. STUDENTS ENJOY THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS VACATIONS
Thanksgiving vacation is the big- gest thing that has happened to this school so far this year. Just think, good food, girls, cars, and all of the other t hings not available at school.
A few weeks ago everybody was looking forwa rd to the Tha nksgiving vacation hoping somehow that the time would fly, which of course it didn't. All of the masters planned to pull their quizzes on the day we got out so everybody's grades dropped a few points. The night before school let out all students were thinking about what they were going to do, an~ not bothering to study for the qurzzes.
Now everybody is back from the big fling trying to get rested up for the next wild excursion, Christmas vacation.
The rest period is in vain because of monthlies. Instead of a big rest period which every•body was planning to have, they are up "after lights" and up early in the morning trying to cram most of the information they forgot over Thanksgiving.
Well, just a few million seconds more left to cram before the big "Homeward Rush," so take good care of your valuable selves, and remember, Exams a ren't too far off ....

Chemistry is offered to students in the fourth form (comparable to the Junior year of high school), elthough several or the pupils who take this course are members of other forms (notably forms V, VI, VII, and VIII). The texts are The New World of Chemistry by Bernard Jaffe, which is published by the Silver Burdette Company, and Vitalized Chemistry by Russell T. DesJardins, published by the College Entrance Book Com- pany, however, except for a little reading in the New W orld of Chem- istry, the chief source of information and reference is the set of notes pre- pared by the portly pedagogue who
