OLE ASTROLOGER
As my eyes finally come back into locus ofter the many journeys and odven•ures of Thanksgiving holiday,
see several lost-looking figures tot- te•'ng back on to the old "160."
Thot evening all the boys sit de- ectedly in study hall or in their •ooms, that is, all but two. Locked safely" away in the "V" club room Icon barely make out the dim out- 'nes of four figures, or is it two? Suddenly• the darkness is shattered by 'ght. There in the doorway stands ·~e Head Man, peering questioning-
ly nto the room at the four startled persons. 'What's going on in here?" he osks (one guess!).
But this is just the last of many rg escapades that occurred during the happy holidaze. It all started with +he sound of the bell at the end of s dh period, immediately followed by the mad rush for the cars and cabs. Leading the pack in the race for the Wheel was the evasive Ghost n his Blue Bug. He was overtaken 'ust outside of Lynchburg by English 'n his Flying Ford. In no time at all everyone m a d e t h e s c e n e a t t h e Wheel. The only sound audible for the first few minutes, other than the exclamations of pleasure, etc., was the clinking of glassware, etc. The frst event of the afternoon was
Oouthot versus the fraction, with the l·acfon winning hands down. All present porticipated in the second event, a combined display of con- sumptive talent.
One personage was noticeably ab- sert from the big affair. It was none o•her than the Judas of VES, Jew C..nningham, himself.
First to leave the party was the Germ. After Piedmont turned him down, he pushed on to the bus sta- tion. As soon as he boarded the bus,

the gentlemanly• character of this true C<"Jvalier showed itself. He graciously offered to hold the suitcase of a young R-M wom<"..n, since there was no place to put it. Like the true qentleman he is, he sacrificingly re- fused to get off at his intended stop, and held the dear girl's suitcase until she got off, which proved to be some time and many miles later.
Not too long after, the party broke up with most of the boys heading for Durham, some for Roanoke, and the rest for home. In Bean's Battle Wagon, the Bean proclaimed that he was the only one who could-and then showed that he couldn't as he joined the Pebble in taking a good l o n g l o o k <"..t t h e p a s s i n g s c e n e r y . Squirrel had tried to play superman with the juice and was, at that moment, prayinq for heavenly mercy.
Gross didn't have much to say as he hurtled through Ly'llchburg like a misquided missile in Screwy's Fury.
All arrived (somehow) a t Durham as the guests of Messers Erwin and Orgain. Everyone enjoyed Thanks- qiving at the lopsided Duke-Carolina tilt. Then each went his separate way.
Dubby headed for Richmond to visit his roommate, but had to make a preliminary visit to the Richmond Hospital for a minor operation to alleviate his "ulcer" condition.
The Ghost and Mardi Gras re- turned to the old "160" to spend the night. The Gras decided (involun- tarily) to remain in the Bug for the night, where he W<"JS discovered the next morning by the Head Man, who took special notice of Mardi Gras' unique headrest.
That's more or less it for the Thanksgiving holidaze, and now every- one is looking forward to the Christ- mas vacation ahead. There are several big events planned, and your old dad olans to make the scene at all of them. I plan to t<"lke in the K.I.T., then there's Christmas, Doc Payne's Open House, the Dixie Classic, the Crook's Cabin party, Bonfoey's Blast, and, as usual, the annual outing on the Powhatan Arrow. Unless bad weather stops me, I just might hop down South to see the Sugar Bowl with Slim.
It's the end, man, 'til next time, so keep it real cool this Yule, don't be a fool, and I'II see 'y'Ou at school around JanuMysville.
