P. 58
Jack, who was sent to us from the hillbilly underworld of Luray, Virginia, has served a five-year term at VES. Since he has been here, Jack has participated in a wide variety of activities: freshman football, soccer, track, and cross country. He is a member of the Dramatic Club, and he has also contributed to the Meteor and to the Vestige.
One of Jack's greatest assets is probably his originality. He and his cellmate of last year successfully concocted a brew of mashed, rotten apples. Although no one ever tasted it, the pungency hung in the halls for days.
With the aid of consistently good grades, and with his honest congeniality, Jack hopes to be turned out of here and to aim for Washington and Lee.
