Hamilton Rodgers Myers, ("You can call me Ham when you get to know me better"), came to VES from Colonial Heights, Virginia, in his sophomore year. Finding early that he could convince neither the student body nor his young admirers from Lynchburg that he was the quiet, shy type, Ham gave up and became one of the most popular boys in this community.
Ham's three years at VES have been very successful ones. In the academic field he has maintained a study-out average, and he has gained fame for his contributions in class. Ham also discovered success on the athletic fields, winning Varsity letters in track his sophomore year, and leading all pole vaulting contingents for the last two years. On the football field he has been even a greater asset. After a season on the junior varsity, he moved to a starting position as line- basker on the Varsity. In his senior year, Ham became quarterback and had the distinction of being elected co- captain of his own team. During the winter he was a cheer- leader for: the Bishop's basketball team.
Ham will follow his father's and his brother's footsteps to The University of Virginia.
