When Ervin came down from Massachusetts five years ago, he brought a bit of northern tradition with him to VES, and this had added another stimulating viewpoint and educational influence to the school's life. He is well-liked by his peers and masters. Ervin has always maintained academic excellence in his classes, as well as consistently scoring near-top on the all-to·frequent college boards.
But Ervin is more than a scholar. He has been very active in athletics, at first in football, and later in cross-country and he has developed into a valuable player on both the soccer and the baseball teams. His favorite is soccer, in which he has lettered. His success here may have been due in part to his feeling right at home on the cold winter days of soccer season when his southern teammates have stood chattering in the frost.
Ervin has contributed a great deal to the school, and he represents a solid investment to any good admissions director. Ervin wishes to continue a liberal arts education at Swath- more. Although he has not decided yet exactly the field in which he will major, whatever field he chooses, it is sure to be a colorful and absorbing one.
His sincerity and integrity will insure his success.
