RICHARD JEPTHA ROSE ROCKY MOUNT, N. C.
Coming to VES in his junior year, Jep has competently upheld the Rocky Mount traditions of kindness, wittiness, and diligence. Jep is a true gentleman in every sense of the word, an attribute known to be common to all the black sheep of Rocky Mount.
Jep's athletic talents were shown immediately after his arrival; he earned starting position in the Bishops' line. He went on to earn letters in basketball and in track. He was on the 880 relay team which broke the school record. But Jep's services to the school have not ended on the playing field. In his senior year, he served as a member of the Honor Com- mittee, as counselor, and as student vestryman. Jep is also a notable scholar, having ranked third in his junior class.
Next year Jep hopes to attend either Davidson or Georgia Tech - that is, if he can leave the job of engineering the gala Sheep's parties to someone else.
