WILLIAM ROMNEY WATKINS LYNCHBURG, VA.
Bill is one of the few boys at VES who has the distinction of being a remainder of his eighth-grade class. Since this humble beginning, Bill, a day student, has risen to many heights. Although he has often had to struggle with the books, Bill has proven a hard worker, a person of strong character, and he had stood out as a leading figure in ath- letics.
Playing on many teams, Bill rose through the VES athle- tic system: 135-pound football, ]. V. football, Varsity foot- ball, Varsity soccer, and Varsity track. His achievements range from playing end on the football team, and running the 880, to holding an unprecedented honor, captain of the soccer team for two years. Needless to say, he is a mem- ber of the Monogram Club.
Bill will attend V.P.I., or Hampden-Sydney. Whatever his decision, he is certain of success.
