In the annual Prep Meet at ·wood- berry Forest, the best of the six Vir- ginia Prep League teams competed against each other. VES sent only fourteen members of its team. Though the Bishops had troublc in the field

Hays Van Noppen accounted for
13 of the 18 points totaled by the
team. He won the broad jump, came
in third in the 100 yard dash, finished
third in the low hurdles, got a fourth
place in the triple jump, and ran the
anchor leg of the third placed 880
rclav team. •
Co-Captain Dan Doughtie finished
fifth amidst a crowd of runners in the
-1-10 ,·ard dash. The other members •
of the 880 relay team were 'Valker Box, Holmes Morton, and Eddie Bar- ham, Barker Dameron, Ken Sprunt, Peter Floyd. Doughtie ran very well
in the mile relav. The team finished '
fourth in that event.
The Bishops were host to Rock
Hill the next Saturday. In spite of rain and thunder they overwhelmned the visitors 105--1. YES placed first and second in every event and got third in every event except four.
Van Noppen won the broad jump, high jump, pole vault, 100 yard dash, and low hurdles. Richard Frye and Ken Sprunt took the shot put and dtscus respectively. Bob Connelly finished first in the mile run. Joe

In Richmond on March 30th, the Bishops lost their opener to St. Christ- ophers 2-7, but came back to defeat Hargrave 9-0 in Chatham on April 2nd. A strong E. C. Glass team as
