Despite New Staff, Meteor Is Very Successful
Feature Editor Allan Williams and Sports Editor Tom Rickards pause after writing stories on Easy Rider and the St. Christopher's game.
The Meteor presented V.E.S. with reviews
of school events and insights into school life.
Sports, drama, choir - the whole gamut
of activities was covered
while a critical editorial page voiced concern
and di_ssent about traditional policies.
Focusing on the students themselves,
rather than the parents and alumni,
circulation was limited for the first time
to the campus community.
Cartoons and movie listings
were added primarily for the boys.
Opinions expressed in the paper were various,
and an attempt was made to represent
as many views as possible.
Features on matters such as curriculum voiced general and specific views.
Editor-in-Chief Fielding Jones
coordinated an inexperienced staff
and supervised practically
all aspects of the paper's production.
Reporters and typists: Lee Hasty, Carey Murphy, and Joe Riepe (seated); Lee Heath, David Anderson, and Heyward Armstrong.
