11A Thurber Carnival'' Played By The Faculty
Amuses Students
"Then I fell in love with a twelve-year old girl. Think of it, Mrs. Bixby - I was only ten at the time," says Mr. Catr to Mrs. Jobe in the fall theater
production. Mr. DeHart directed an all-adult cast in a bold presentation of "A Thurber Carnival." From the first line in the opening word dance until the final curtain call, the five masters and four faculty wives entertained the audience with several of James Thurber's most amusing sketches. Mr. Hudnall, playing such diverse roles as Ulysses 5. Grant, James Thurber, and Walter Mitty, was the cast's most versatile performer. His talent and that of the other players united for a most successful and entertaining
performance.
"Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?" ]o Lee asks Nat Jobe (center) as Don McGill, Connie Goggin, Unda McGill, Bert Hudnall, Calvin Jones, Bennett Carr and Wisty jobe pause in the word dance.
"Good God, the machine is crevulating! Forceps! Hemostats! Suture! Bifurcated invertebrator!" yells Bert Hudnall as Dr. Walter Mitty while Nat Jobe, Bennett Carr, Calvin Jones, Wisty Jobe and Don Mc- Gill look on in horror.
