Bishops Win Big One
Over Cocky Cougars At
Collegiate Homecoming
In traveling to Richmond to meet
an undefeated Collegiate team on their
Homecoming Day, the Bishops faced their first major test of the season.
Despite unfavorable field conditions and
the large turnout of Cougar fans, V.E.S.
successfully met the challenge and sealed the game with a 20 to 6 score.
Though the offensive unit, headed by
T. Barker Dameron, Allen Hamblen, and Hunt Taylor proved effective in scoring three touchdowns,
the defensive squad, led by the powerful Front Four, consisting of Rhae Adams, Tim Sullivan, Dick Trotman, and Rip Wilson, held the opposition to only
one yard on the ground. The win marked
the second Prep League victory, and it projected
the unbeaten Bishops' total record to five wins.
