Arch-Rival Woodberry Forest Soundly Beaten
Despite Cold, Rain, Mud
Having won six straight games,
Head Coach Rock Lee and
his football machine traveled to Orange, where
they met one of their toughest Prep League rivals, Woodberry Forest,
and emerged victorious, 21 to 8. With
the aid of one of last year's coaches,
Mr. Leroy Atkins, and the cheering of
a large portion of the student body, the Bishops fought valiantly during the first half
to establish a decisive lead, and they
maintained this margin throughout the game. The win marked the first victory over the Tigers since
1949.
While Allen Hamblen and Edmund Badham block out a Woodberry Forest defender, Neal Partrick spots a receiver and sends a quick pass. Neal's consistently good passing was invaluable to the V.E.S. offense.
Marvin Barnard looks on while even four Woodberry Forest aggressors are unable to stop Hunt Taylor as he breaks away into the open.
